40th JDC-Respect Is Just a Minimum Youth Program is getting ready for our Tour of New Orleans!
Date: Saturday, March 28
Our goal is to empower students with knowledge so they can understand communities and make informed decisions about the future.
Financial Literacy + Awareness = Power

Live at Hell's Kitchen!

Respect Is Just a Minimum Youth Program partnered with East St. John High School’s Literary Club for a special cultural experience. Students attended the Broadway production of Hell’s Kitchen at the Saenger Theatre and enjoyed a celebratory dinner at Copeland’s.
We extend our sincere thanks to the students for their enthusiasm and great behavior, to the parents for their continued support, and to the chaperones for their time and dedication in making this memorable evening possible.

First Aid & CPR Training

The 40th JDC Court – Respect Is Just the Minimum Youth Program students proudly completed two impactful days of CPR certification training.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing nurses, Krystal Placide -Taylor and Eshonte Huntley for their dedication, expertise, and partnership in making this program a success. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the literary club sponsors, Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Porter, for partnering with us and investing in our students’ growth. Special thanks to Principal Jackson (ESJH) and Principal Brown (WSJH) for their continued support and commitment to youth development.

Healthy Heart - Healthy Life

Today’s session focused on taking control of your health one heartbeat at a time. We explored what blood pressure numbers really mean, discussed lifestyle strategies for keeping your readings in a healthy range, and looked at how diet, stress, and exercise affect your heart. We also covered the proper way to check your blood pressure at home so you can stay informed and in control.

Painting Your Emotions

“Painting Your Emotions as a Form of Communication” with Dana Bardell-Wallace and Charlie Rousseve was incredible!
Our youth showed up with honesty and creativity, transforming their emotions into powerful artwork as part of the 40th JDC – Respect Is Just a Minimum Youth Program. The room was filled with color, conversation, and real connection.

Resume Building Workshop

The class covered essential tips like tailoring resumes to job descriptions, showcasing achievements with clear, quantifiable results, and polishing resumes to achieve a professional finish. The students left feeling much more confident about creating resumes that truly stand out!

Today’s session highlighted the importance of personal hygiene and understanding STDs and STIs in maintaining overall health and well-being.
